The English Weekend „Potluck and Potpourri”
Gave us a lot of energy.
We walked along the English road,
When water appeared we went by boat,
Gently down the river
Without getting a shiver.
We were many fans,
Thirty-three participants
Our longest English Weekend started on Friday in September.
Do you remember?
And it ended in October.
Unfortunately, it’s over.
On Saturday we Lady Christa hired.
Everybody her basket admired.
It was full of fruit and vegetable,
Later all of us were able
To recognise the oak leaves, chestnuts, pumpkins, herbs.
They were more fun than question tags and adverbs.
We got to know the pumpkin from Hokkaido, Japan.
Now we are of it a fan.
We saw the birch, the beech, the maple,
Got information about the “Big Apple”,
We stood in front of birch 339,
Which was fine.
Everybody, he and she,
Felt a lot of energy.
We touched the trees around the pond,
Now we are so very fond.
Next to the birch there was a yew,
We felt it’s power, too. (im Nu!)
Finally we send seasonal greetings, autumnal ones.
The group says good bye, including Bernd Franz.
It’s the end of our presentation,
In November follows the prolongation,
We hope, if nothing goes daneben,
We’ll meet again in Hedersleben.
